Getting to Kefalonia

Kefalonia is approximately 3.5 hours from the UK with direct charter flights from May to October from various airports in the UK and Ireland. You can book a package holiday to include your flights and accommodation, or book your accommodation independently and a ‘flight only’ with one of the charter companies. Alternatively you can fly via Athens throughout the year.

What is the difference between a civil, political and registrar service?

There is no difference, it’s just that different countries have a different name for the same ceremony.

Can we have a civil wedding anywhere on the island of Kefalonia?

Some municipalities within Kefalonia are more agreeable than others, but given prior agreement any location can be used for the wedding service. Let us know your wishlist and Mythos will make the necessary enquiries.

Can we hire any or all of our wedding attire on the island?

There is a full range of wedding dresses, suits, and children’s outfits available for hire for all special occasions. You will need to provide accurate measurements and book in good time to secure the outfit of your choice.

Are all types of menu available for the reception?

Mythos are not only restauranteurs but also caterers, and have been for many years. We will design an individual reception menu together with you to ensure it is exactly what you want.

At what point can we change the venue, considering unforseen circumstances (for example increased numbers for the reception)?

We will always have a second venue option available in the event of unforseen circumstances.

What choice is there for decoration of the location of the wedding service and reception?

We will arrange decoration to your own specification whether you want a simple, classic style or to really go to town! The Greeks tend to have extraordinarily exquisite flower arrangements at their weddings and should you wish to follow their lead, the local florists are experts in the art.

Can we get married in Kefalonia in the winter?

Yes you can. We can recommend venues that would be more suitable for a winter wedding, but other wise the arrangements would be the same.

When will you provide us with a cost estimate for our wedding and when is payment due?

Once all details for your wedding service and reception been confirmed, we will provide you with a full costing so that we can take a deposit and go ahead and make the necessary bookings. We will include all extras you have chosen in the costing though you can add to these extras at a later date if you wish, subject to availability.

We will ask for a deposit of 25% on confirmation of your booking, 25% 6 weeks prior to the wedding and the balance at our meeting on your arrival in Kefalonia.

Are tax and gratuities included in your package prices?

All taxes are included; any gratuities would be at your discretion.
